📍 What is the deadline for filing my taxes in 2024?

In 2024, the deadline to file your income tax return is April 30. This date is the same for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec.

This means that your declaration must be submitted by Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. , whether online or by post.

👩What if I am self-employed?

If you or your spouse had self-employment income in 2023, you have until June 15, 2024, to file your return. However, be careful:

🧾 Any amount due must still be paid before April 30.
Otherwise, interest will begin accruing on May 1st.

❗ What happens if I file late?

Filing your return late can result in:

• Interest on the balance due

• A penalty of 5% on the unpaid amount, plus 1% per month of delay (up to 12 months)
